Armstrong Buildings B1 & B2, Quebec, Canada
This residential development comprises two mid-rise buildings totaling approximately 105,000 sq ft of built-up area. Our team provided comprehensive structural value engineering and design optimization, improving efficiency, constructability, and long-term performance while supporting the project’s architectural vision. Our experienced value engineers have suggested an alternative cost, time and material efficient solution by replacing the originally planned piling activity with a raft foundation. Piling activities are known to cause significant environmental impacts, such as noise pollution, vibration, and disturbances to the local ecosystem. By opting for a raft foundation, we were able to meet all the engineering and code requirements while reducing materials and construction schedule.
